I was shooting at 10 yards single hand, freehand. I was shooting .490 rb over prelubed Ox-Yoke .018 patches. Load was 22 grains of FFFg Goex black powder.I use the rear tang screw and if needed, drill and tap a new whole in the tang. Some of the TC rifle and some of the Pedersoli's come with a hole already there, but of not, do not panic, it's an easy 5 minute job to drill and tap a 6/32 or 8/32 hole. BTW - TOTW has the best prices on the Pedersoli Ghost sights.At my last range session, I shot a 4 inch group at 75 yards off my elbows (no bags) with a .50 caliber Traditions Kentucky. My .50 cal flinter shoots low and way to the left.My small tree critters have always been dropped with a .32 or .36, and they excel on small game. With a .40 all shots need to be at the head/neck area even with very light loads. Mid-body hits might be okay, you'll just have to see. The bit that gave me nightmares was brazing on the bayonet bar and sling lug.. i used the last of my "old" silver solder on the bar, but had to use new stuff on the sling lug. I like the fact that they have a hole cross drilled horizontally in the area where the cap sits. These hole direct the blow back gases outward and help split the cap for easy removal. The lands are "52", the grooves are "54" and is a "56" caliber rim with a smaller base to tie your cartridge to.
