It's theoretically better quality bandwidth and far less likely to ever experience a saturation\congestion issue compared with something shared like XGS-PON.Unless you plan to be a livestreamer, gig internet is overkill. If you're by yourself and not multitasking a lot where you would notice it is getting new games, they would download faster, but that's about it, and it would be a noticeable difference depending for Xbox and PlayStation, less noticeable for Steam.Not all programming available in all areas.
